Leadership Dialogue Series: Securing Your Future: Exploring Career Opportunities in Cybersecurity

 The Leadership Dialogue Series – Week 13 was successfully conducted on May 15, 2025, at the New Seminar Hall. We were honored to host Mr. Himanshu Vaish, Director at Adept Expressions, for an engaging and insightful session on “Securing Your Future: Exploring Career Opportunities in Cybersecurity.” The session provided valuable perspectives on how students can strategically shape their careers in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity. Mr. Vaish highlighted key industry trends, skill sets in demand, and real-world applications of cybersecurity, encouraging students to proactively build competencies in areas such as ethical hacking, network security, data privacy, and cyber resilience. The interactive session sparked curiosity and enthusiasm among participants, helping them understand the relevance and urgency of cybersecurity in today’s digital landscape. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Himanshu Vaish for sharing his knowledge and inspiring our students to explore emerging opportunities in this dynamic and essential domain.

Leadership Dialogue Series:Cybersecurity Career Opportunities for Young Graduates

The Leadership Dialogue Series – Week 12 held on 9th May 2025, featuring a dynamic and insightful session titled Cybersecurity Career Opportunities for Young Graduates.” The session was led by Mr. Kamalesh Singh, Head of the Cyber Security Program at Infosys, and was specially organised  for second and third-year cybersecurity students. In this highly interactive discussion, Mr. Singh provided an in-depth overview of current job opportunities across critical cybersecurity domains such as Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT), Security Operations Center (SOC) roles, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) frameworks. He emphasized the increasing demand for skilled professionals in these areas and how students can strategically position themselves for success. A key takeaway from the session was the importance of international certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, and ISO 27001, which significantly boost employability and global readiness. Mr. Singh also highlighted the role of internships, practical exposure, and consistent upskilling in shaping a robust cybersecurity career path. The session served as both a career guide and a motivational push, empowering students to align their learning with the fast-evolving demands of the cybersecurity industry.

Industry Conclave 2025

The Departments of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering have conducted Industry Conclave 2025 on “Revolutionizing Engineering in the Digital Age:Utilizing AI, IoT, Data Analytics, Electric Vehicles, and Hydrogen Technology to Drive Innovation in Mechanical and Automotive Industries” on 26.04.2025.The industry experts Mr.Kiran Sheelavant, Associate Vice-President, Autoliv India Pvt.Ltd., Bangalore, Mr.S.B.Mallikarjun, General Manager, Autoliv India Pvt.Ltd., Bangalore, Mr.Gurunath Hanche, Specialist, Autoliv India Pvt.Ltd., Bangalore, Dr.Narayanan Ramanujam, Senior Technical Manager, Hexagon Ltd., Bangalore and Mr.S.Srinath, Deputy General Manager, TAFE, Chennai were participated and presented in the conclave.

Leadership Dialogue Series: Intern to FTE – A Roadmap

The Leadership Dialogue Series – Week 11 was successfully conducted on 30th April 2025 at the New Seminar Hall. The session featured an insightful talk by Dr. Ilango Paramasivam, Group Technical Manager, Engineering and R&D Services at HCL Tech, on the theme “Intern to FTE – A Roadmap.” Dr. Ilango emphasized the critical role internships play in securing full-time employment, especially in core technical domains such as software development, cybersecurity, data science, cloud computing, embedded systems, and VLSI. He encouraged students to view internships not merely as academic requirements, but as valuable opportunities to build technical expertise, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and align with industry expectations. The session served as a motivational guide, helping students strategically plan their career journey from internships to full-time roles and prepare themselves to become competent, industry-ready professionals.

Leadership Dialogue Series: Career Planning in Adversities

The Leadership Dialogue Series – Week 9 was successfully conducted on 23rd April 2025 at the New Seminar Hall. The session featured Mr. Ashish (AB) Banka, Head of People Success (GCC, DE&I, TA, HRBP) at Cradlewise, who spoke on the topic “Career Planning in Adversities”. The session emphasized the importance of resilience, innovation, and empathy in shaping effective leadership, especially during challenging times. Mr. Banka defined true leadership as the ability to not only survive adversity but to drive meaningful transformation through it. He highlighted how leaders can rise stronger, adapt faster, and lead with courage in the face of obstacles. By embracing these qualities, professionals can chart impactful career paths, thrive amidst uncertainties, and emerge as catalysts for change in their organizations, ultimately leading to personal and professional growth.

Leadership Dialogue Series : Learning Agility: A Must-Have Skill in Tech Careers

The Leadership Dialogue Series – Week 8 was successfully conducted on 11th April 2025 at the New Seminar Hall. The session featured Mr. Manikandan Balasubramanian, Head of HR at iTECH India, Chennai, who spoke on the topic Learning Agility: A Must-Have Skill in Tech Careers”. The session defined learning agility as the ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn efficiently, emphasizing its vital role in navigating dynamic career paths within the tech industry. Learning agility empowers professionals to quickly adapt to emerging technologies, trends, and workflows. By cultivating this skill, tech professionals can remain relevant, foster innovation, and progress in their careers within an ever-evolving industry landscape.

Leadership Dialogue Series: Impact of Gen AI in End-to-End Testing

The Department of Career Planning and Guidance at Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology organized a Leadership Dialogue Series on April 4, 2025, featuring Mr. Subrata Biswas, Program Director, Testing CoE at Birlasoft, India. In his talk titled Impact of Gen AI/AI in End-to-End Testing,” Mr. Biswas highlighted the transformative potential of Generative AI in revolutionizing the software testing landscape by enabling faster, more efficient, and more accurate testing processes. He emphasized how organizations can leverage Gen AI to enhance software quality, reduce operational costs, and improve customer satisfaction. The session inspired students to explore the future of AI-driven testing and encouraged them to upskill in emerging technologies, opening pathways to exciting career opportunities.
